The Burkina Faso Project aims to raise £5,000 over the next two years to help Christian Aid improve resilience and food security for poor communities in Northern Burkina Faso.
The European Union is match funding this project 1:5, so that our £5,000 will become a staggering £30,000 to support some of the poorest communities in Burkina Faso.
Focusing on the poorest and most vulnerable in 45 villages, the project’s ambitions are rooted in the needs of the community.
Christian Aid’s partners are local men and women who understand first-hand the experiences, uncertainties and challenges that families in Burkina Faso face.
In March 2015, we set the target of raising £5,000 to help Christian Aid improve resilience and food security
for poor communities in Northern Burkina Faso.
Together with many other people in the Ashbourne area, you have helped us to achieve our target.
Thank you for your support throughout The Burkina Faso Project,
and particularly 'Go a Mile for Burkina Faso'. You’ll be pleased to hear that we did it!
In fact, the people of Ashbourne walked, ran, cycled and swam over 5700 miles.
This is the distance from Ashbourne to Burkina Faso – and back!
This has enabled us to reach our target of £5,000
